Scottish Household Survey 2017 Local Authority Tables

The Scottish Household Survey (SHS) 2017 Local Authority Tables were published on 30 October 2018. These contain Local Authority level analysis that matches as closely as possible to the tables and charts that were published in September 2018 at National level in the SHS 2017 Annual Report. The Local Authority Tables can be accessed in either Excel or PDF format.

For the first time, a prototype interactive web-based dashboard has also been published, for now containing only data on Local Authority Performance.

Additionally, a prototype infographic Local Authority report for Fife has been produced.

The SHS Team are seeking feedback on this. Please have a look and email any comments to shs@gov.scot

An analysis and commentary on a range of local authority tables related to housing has also been published.

Questionnaires and technical reports can be accessed from the main SHS Publications page.

Expected Impact of Welfare Reform Changes for Fife by 2020

Significant amounts of money have been, and are being, lost to local people and the local
economy each year as a result of UK welfare benefit changes. The expected loss to the Fife
economy is estimated at around £153 million, per year, by 2020. That means that, on
average, each adult of working age will have around £655 less in their pocket each year.
The geographical impact of the changes is uneven, with poorer communities more likely to
be affected. The full impact of welfare reform changes has yet to be fully seen in Fife with
some reforms yet to be implemented.

This briefing highlights the expected impact for Fife:
